ANTIQUE PLANKING, DECKING and SIDING
Reclaimed planking and decking is used in a wide variety of applications which include ceiling decking, interior wall paneling, and exterior siding. Like the timbers, the reclaimed lumber has been air dried over many years and, as a result, is dry and stable. Recycled planking and decking can be manufactured with a variety of milling options to suit the application. These options include tongue and groove, shiplap, edging (straightening), thickness planning (gauged thickness), and most other standard milling alternatives. All can be ordered in uniform width or in a mixed/random width for additional character. Following are the various reclaimed planking and decking alternatives we offer arranged by species and the various appearances available.
Once you have decided on the species, appearance and sizes of your beams you can either call the office with your requirements or fill out the online quote form by clicking on the"Get Quote" icon adjacent to the species and appearance you prefer. We will do our best to return the quote the same business day.
RECLAIMED DOUGLAS FIR PLANKING
SANDED DOUGLAS FIR - Sanded Reclaimed Douglas fir planking is created by passing the material through a special sander which lightly sands the surface while leaving the patina and character. It produces a more refined appearance and is very popular for open beam ceiling and wall applications.

SAWN DOUGLAS FIR - With the horizontal bandsaw, we can produce a fresh sawn face on both sides of the planking. This will leave a limited amount of character marks from the nail holes, but generally it will look similar to fresh sawn fir with a band sawn finish. The material is typically the same net dimension in thickness and width. This material can also then be surface sanded or run to any of the common milling pattern such as tongue and groove.

HAND HEWN DOUGLAS FIR - A hand hewn appearance on the planking is another alternative. Using adz axes and special sanders we can recreate a hand hewn surface which will match the hand hewn Douglas fir timbers. Occasional character marks will enhance the authentic character of this material.

RECLAIMED AUTHENTIC BARN SIDING AND PLANKING
AS IS BARN SIDING - Recycled barn siding is available in the condition it was received with the visible hardware removed and end damage trimmed. It is most commonly available in an average 1” thickness and a variety of widths up to 10”, (wider material is available in the Douglas fir planking). All milling options are available with reclaimed barn siding including thickness gauging and edging. The original face will usually have a raised grain gray/brown patina with the circular or band sawn markings.

SANDED BARN SIDING - Sanded reclaimed barn planking is created by passing the individual planks through a special sander which lightly sands the surface while leaving the patina and character. This process will reduce a predominately gray patina to a beautiful shade of brown. It produces a more refined appearance and is very popular for open beam ceiling and wall applications.

SAWN BARN SIDING - With the horizontal band saw, we can produce a fresh sawn face on both sides of the planking. This will leave a limited amount of character marks from the nail holes, but generally it will look similar to fresh sawn oak with a band sawn finish. The material is typically the same net dimension in thickness and width. This material can also then be surface sanded or run to any of the common milling pattern such as tongue and groove.

HAND HEWN FACE CUTS - As a by-product of our milling operation, we occasionally generate hand hewn face cuts when saw sizing the authentic hand hewn barn beams. They are generally about 1" thick and vary in width. These are usually used in wall/ceiling applications which call for a rustic hand hewn appearance. This product is subject to the availability of stock on hand.

RECLAIMED GRAY BOARD PLANKING
GRAY BOARD - This is another reclaimed wood product recovered straight off the farm. Typically, it has been outdoors for an extended period and has the resulting weathered gray patina with profound checking. It is available in 2x6 through 2x12 and can be split to yield 1x with one old gray face. This decking is usually used in conjunction with the reclaimed barn beams to create a rustic theme.
