Vintage Timberworks both stocks reclaimed strip flooring, such as gym floors, and manufactures custom recycled flooring from our stock of reclaimed timbers and lumber. The Douglas fir and Oak barn flooring are manufactured in a variety of widths and lengths, including mixed width applications. The reclaimed flooring is usually limited in width and length and the supply is limited to stock on hand.

DOUGLAS FIR FLOORING
RUSTIC FIR - This product starts with a board which has the original rough brown patina and the original band or circular saw marks. The board is then sent through a special sander which lightly sands the surface while leaving the patina and character marks. It is then passed through a molder to create the tongue and groove/back relief. We can manufacture this in up to 10” widths in the traditional ¾” thickness and in wider planks if your conditions allow a thicker plank (for stability). Long lengths of 20’ plus are not a problem.
CLEAR VERTICAL GRAIN FIR - Carefully selected, the planks in this product will be milled nearly free of character marks and knots. The grain pattern will display as an edge grain on the surface of the floor. This is the most durable configuration for flooring. The widths will be limited to a maximum of 6” with this product and up to 10’ in length. This is typically used in a more refined, contemporary setting.
MIXED GRAIN CHARACTER GRADE FIR - This reclaimed floor results from the outfall created when we saw size beams to smaller dimensions leaving planks of various sizes. This product will have mixed grain (flat, rift, and vertical grain) and plenty of knots and character marks. It is available in a wide variety of widths and lengths and is very reasonably priced.
ANTIQUE BARN FLOORING
RUSTIC BARN BOARD FLOORING - This recycled flooring starts with the gray barn siding planks which are de-nailed, edged, and selected for quality. The board is then sent through a special sander which lightly sands the surface while leaving the patina and character marks. It is then passed through a molder to create the tongue and groove/back relief. We can manufacture this in up to 8” widths in the traditional ¾” thickness and up to 10’ in length. This floor tends to be predominantly white oak with occasional red oak planks mixed in.
SURFACED BARN BOARD FLOORING - The Classic floor starts with the gray barn siding planks which are de-nailed and edged. It is then passed through a molder to create the tongue and groove/back relief and planes the surface removing the old patina and saw marks while leaving some of the character. We can manufacture this in up to 8” widths in the traditional ¾” thickness and in lengths up to 10’. Wider plank s may be available if your conditions allow a thicker plank (for stability).
ANTIQUE CHESTNUT FLOORING
RUSTIC CHESTNUT - Chestnut flooring is not only beautiful...it's only source today is from the reclaimed lumber from which it is milled. This stunning recycled floor starts with the gray barn siding planks which are de-nailed, edged, and selected for quality. The board is then sent through a special sander which lightly sands the surface while leaving the patina and character marks. It is then passed through a molder to create the tongue and groove/back relief. We can manufacture this in up to 8” widths in the traditional ¾” thickness and up to 10’ in length.

RECLAIMED STRIP FLOORING
OAK, MAPLE, AND PECAN - This recycled flooring product is reclaimed from buildings, offices, and gyms. It is usually ¾” x 2-1/4” in dimension but can vary up to 3-1/2” in width and occasionally ½” in depth. We process the material pulling the nails and eliminating the pieces too damaged to use. Some of the pieces will have some damage to the T&G but is serviceable. The inventory is priced favorably and stock changes frequently. We primarily stock oak, maple, and pecan in this product. A great looking option is to hand sand the individual pieces prior to installation leaving the existing scratches and character marks. The floor is then installed and finished. Alternatively, you can install the reclaimed flooring “As is” and sand as if it were a new installation, eliminating the character.
