Originating from residential structures and industrial buildings typically on the West Coast dating back to the early 1900’s, reclaimed Douglas fir flooring is available in a wide range of widths up to 11” and long lengths up to 16’+. We can mill the reclaimed Douglas fir flooring into either an engineered product or solid wood flooring with the original reddish brown patina and original texture containing either a circular sawn or band sawn appearance or can milled bright and smooth. Since each job is custom milled, we can produce either a fixed width or mixed width flooring based on current inventory. A minimum setup fee applies to jobs less than 500 square feet.
This reclaimed wood flooring product starts with boards which have the original rough brown patina and the original bandsaw or circular saw marks. Each board is then sent through a special sander which lightly sands the surface while leaving the patina and character marks. This product can be ordered in a uniform width or supplied as mixed widths. Widths up to 12″ are available as an engineered product to maximize stability.
This reclaimed wood floor product is similar to our “Rustic Douglas Fir” flooring with the difference being the amount of sanding we have done to it. Each reclaimed wood plank is passed through our sander to smooth out the boards further without removing all of the original character. Depending on the level of character desired, this can be installed and sanded a little further on site. This product is available in a uniform width or supplied as mixed width. Widths up to 12″ are available to maximize stability.
Carefully selected, the planks in this product will be milled nearly free of character marks and knots. The grain pattern will display as an edge grain on the surface of the wood floor. This is the most durable configuration for flooring. The widths will usually be limited to a maximum of 6″ with this product and up to 10′ in length. Occasionally Vintage Timberworks can manufacture this in up to 10″ widths as inventory permits. We can also provide this with a bandsaw texture. This reclaimed wood flooring product is often used in a more refined, contemporary setting. Please specify if you would like square edges (shown) or eased edges when placing your order.
This reclaimed wood flooring is our most economical option. This product will have mixed grain (flat, rift, and vertical grain) and plenty of knots and character marks. It is available in a wide variety of widths and lengths and is very reasonably priced. Please specify if you would like square edges or eased edges (shown) when placing your order.
