Where Reclaimed Meets Modern
These days much of our material finds its new home in clean, bright and modern settings.
While we also cater to large rustic projects, many home and business owners are preferring a clean open layout with some unique character. The character that reclaimed wood offers can make such an enormous impact, even when used sparingly. Whether it’s in a modern coastal farmhouse with a bright and airy motif or an urban industrial loft with concrete, glass, and exposed steel, reclaimed wood can add charm and character without feeling too rustic.
Floating reclaimed wood shelves can make a huge impact on a bright modern kitchen to give it a warmer and more inviting feel. Many people are opting for the open feel of floating shelving compared to upper cabinets and is a great way to create a more spacious feel. Also pictured here are several of our reclaimed sanded Douglas fir beams inset into a soffit. These flat beams draw the eye upward and give the feeling of a taller, more open ceiling.
We love to see when customers decide to mix materials to create a unique and welcoming space. Shown here, our reclaimed gray board pairs nicely with white marble, brass fixtures, and gray herringbone tile in this beautiful guest bathroom. The sparing use of reclaimed wood in this application allows the material to not give off a rustic vibe that many people are looking to avoid in today’s modern settings- yet still allows the beauty of the material to speak for itself.
Customers are often looking for reclaimed planking for an accent wall or art piece. We offer a wide selection of planking materials from rough to smooth and from light to dark. For more continuity, many of our customers opt for a single planking product in either a single or mixed width layout, while others prefer a mix of textures and colors offered either in our “mixed species planking” or in a custom tailored blend of several of our products.
Re-sawn timbers and planking are an excellent choice for customers looking for a clean appearance with the unrivaled stability, grain density and character of reclaimed wood. We can re-size timbers to make them perfectly straight in custom sizes, or create planking for exterior siding or ceiling decking. The beauty of using reclaimed core-dry material, is that once we resize the timbers, they will remain perfectly straight and not twist or shrink like new lumber. This means mortised connections will remain looking as tight and as amazing as the day they were installed.
